An AI-powered app enhances walking skills for visually impaired children. Developed in partnership with Safe Toddles, a non-profit dedicated to improving mobility for visually impaired kids (https://www.safetoddles.org), the app provides structured lessons utilizing the Pediatric Belt Cane.
Children participate in interactive lessons, complete associated activities, and provide feedback via integrated questionnaires. A wearable IMU sensor attached to the cane transmits data to the app. This data is analyzed by an AI module to assess the child's developmental walking age.
The app then dynamically adjusts the lesson plan, providing personalized instruction based on regular assessments of the child's progress. This adaptive learning approach ensures the lessons are always optimally suited to the individual child's needs.
