The tingklik is a traditional Balinese musical instrument.
Crafted from bamboo, it resembles a set of blades and is played by striking these blades with a paddle, also known as a tingklik pelvis. A tingklik gamelan ensemble typically features two instruments: the tingklik polos and the tingklik sangsih. A single tingklik instrument can have anywhere from eleven to twenty-five bamboo blades, the exact number depending on the musical scale employed. The instrument is played using both hands; the right hand typically handles the kotekan (melody), while the left hand plays the bun (rhythm). Occasionally, the right hand might also play the sangsih part, with the left hand reserved for the polos part.
