Medabot Survivors, a new bullet-hell action game based on the popular Japanese robot RPG series, has launched exclusively in Japan for iOS and Android devices on February 10th. This release, as reported by Gematsu, is a significant event for fans of the franchise, which enjoyed considerable success in Japan but remained relatively unknown in the West.
For those unfamiliar, Medabots emerged in the wake of Pokémon's global popularity, alongside other Japanese franchises vying for Western market share. While some, like Digimon, achieved widespread recognition, Medabots never quite gained the same traction. However, its continued popularity in Japan demonstrates its enduring appeal.
